Uttarakhand News: The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham were closed today on Saturday at 3:33 pm for the winter season in Kartik Shukla Shashthi Shravan Nakshatra. Badrinath temple was decorated with flowers on the occasion of closing of doors. The entire Badrinath was resonating with the devotional tunes of the band of Garhwal Scouts in the Singh Dwar complex. Jai Badri Vishal’s slogans were echoing. More than five and a half thousand devotees were present on the occasion of closing of doors. On this occasion, donors and the Indian Army organized bhandaras for the pilgrims.
Badrinath Dham doors closed
After snowfall, the weather remained clear in Badrinath Dham today. The day was sunny. There was snow on the distant peaks. BKTC President Ajendra Ajay said that under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this year’s Badrinath-Kedarnath Yatra has been historic. This time a record maximum of 38 lakh pilgrims reached Badri-Kedar. Till the doors were closed, more than eighteen lakh forty thousand pilgrims visited Badrinath Dham. He congratulated all the individuals and organizations who contributed to the yatra.
The doors of Kedarnath were closed on 15 November. After attending the program, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay had reached Badrinath Dham for preparations for Shri Badrinath Kapat Bandh. Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh said that from the date of opening of doors till late night of Friday 17th November, 18 lakh 36 thousand 519 pilgrims reached Badrinath Dham. The number of passengers is the highest in all previous travel years. The process of closing the doors had started from 14th November.
On November 15, the doors of Adi Kedareshwar and Adi Guru Shankaracharya temples were closed. On 16th November, Khadagpustak puja and on 17th November, Mahalakshmi puja and embroidery offering was completed. On 18th November, as usual, after the morning Mahabhishek, Baal Bhog was offered. Evening puja started at quarter to 1 pm. At quarter to two, Rawal ji took the form of a woman and seated Lakshmi ji in the sanctum sanctorum of Badrinath temple. Before this, Shri Uddhav ji and Shri Kuber ji were seated in the temple courtyard.
Evening bhog and bed aarti was completed at 2.15 pm. While completing the ritual of closing the doors from 2:30 to 3:30, Lord Badrivishal was considered to be revered and covered with a ghee blanket made of wool woven by the hands of Mahila Mandal. At 3.33 pm, the doors of three Shri Badrinath temple sanctum sanctorum and the main lion gate were closed for winter. With this Kuber ji went to Bamani village for the night stay. Media in-charge of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, Dr. Harish Gaur said that along with Badrinath Dham Rawal, the throne of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji left for Shri Narasimha Temple Joshimath.
On 19th November, Adiguru Shankaracharya ji’s Gaddi and Rawal Yoga will stay in Badri Pandukeshwar. On 20th November, the throne of Adi Guru Shankaracharya ji will reach Shri Nrusingha Temple located in Joshimath along with Rawal ji. Adi Guru Shankaracharya Gaddi Sthal Shri Nrisingh Temple will be situated in Joshimath. With this, the Shri Badrinath Dham Yatra will end this year and winter pujas will begin at Yoga Badri Pandukeshwar, Shri Nrisingh Badri Joshimath.
