Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik’s reaction on Team India’s defeat against Australia in the World Cup 2023 final.

Shoaib Malik on Team India’s defeat: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has listed some reasons for the Indian team’s defeat against Australia in the World Cup 2023 final. In this, he has described Australia’s preparation as better than Team India in terms of the conditions at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Along with this, he has also linked KL Rahul’s slow batting to India’s defeat.

While talking to ‘A-Sports’ after the World Cup final, Shoaib Malik said, ‘KL Rahul was trying to bat for the entire 50 overs. He should not have done this. He should have played his game. If you are batting in difficult conditions and are not getting boundaries easily, then you should at least keep rotating the strike. But he did not do so. He played too much dot ball.

‘Australia did more homework on the field’
Shoaib Malik then said that the Australian bowlers had done good homework on the dimensions of the stadium. He bowled on the right line-length and did not allow too many boundaries. Malik said, ‘The ground where this final was played had big boundaries. Australia made good use of this thing. Their bowlers made good use of variation in their bowling. Australia had done their homework on the field better than the Indians and then they were successful in implementing their strategies there as well.

Slow innings of KL Rahul
Batting first in the World Cup 2023 final, the Indian team made a good start in the powerplay but the Indian innings slowed down only after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma. Virat and KL Rahul added 67 runs on 109 balls for the fourth wicket. During this period, not even a single boundary was reached in more than 90 balls. In this match, KL Rahul played a very slow inning of 66 runs in 107 balls. He could hit only one four in his entire innings. Let us tell you that the Indian team was able to score only 240 runs here, in response to which Australia chased the target in 43 overs and registered an easy victory by 6 wickets.
