In a spectacular final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19 November, Australia defeated India by six wickets to win their sixth ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup title. Talking about the match, Pat Cummins won the toss and invited India to bat first.
India were restricted to less than 240 runs, Mitchell Starc Played an important role by taking three wickets. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul emerged as the top scorers for India by contributing 54 and 66 runs respectively. Despite early successes, Travis Head and marnus labuschagne Made a remarkable partnership of 192 runs for the fourth wicket. They successfully chased down the target with 42 balls to spare and shattered India’s dream of a third World Cup title. Head played an excellent innings and scored 137 runs in 120 balls, while Labuschagne remained unbeaten on 58 runs.
