India suffered a heart-breaking defeat at the hands of Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The Sunday which was expected to end with a celebration, turned out to be a bad result for all the Indian fans who were left disappointed at the end of it all.
The Pat Cummins-led side completely thrashed the Men in Blue in front of 1,25,000 on the strength of their all-round cricket. After losing the toss, India were invited to put runs on the board and could only score 240 runs. Cummins led from the front and restricted India to their lowest total in this year’s tournament.
India were expected to give a tough challenge to Australia in the second innings, but the match was very easy for Travis Head as he dominated all the Indian bowlers, be it fast bowlers or spinners. In the end, Australia added another feather to its cap by winning the World Cup for the sixth time in history.
While there was huge disappointment all around after the match, the players and fans composed themselves and consoled themselves at the end of this incredible event. Bollywood celebrities also did not lag behind in consoling the team and fans. Actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonu Sood, Dia Mirza and others took to X (formerly Twitter) to boost the team’s morale after the heartbreaking defeat.
This is how Bollywood reacted to Team India’s defeat in the ODI World Cup final:
