Maratha Reservation: Recently, protesters demanding Maratha reservation were lathicharged in Jalna, Maharashtra. A new revelation has come regarding this. An RTI filed in the case has revealed that the order for lathi charge on the protesters was not given by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Since Devendra Fadnavis is also handling the Home Ministry of Maharashtra. Therefore, this question was being raised repeatedly from the opposition that lathi charge cannot be carried out without their orders.
Asaram Dongre had filed RTI
However, now the answer to this question has been found. According to the information received under RTI, Devendra Fadnavis had not ordered lathi charge. Actually, Maharashtra activist Asaram Dongre had sought information from Maharashtra Police under RTI whether this lathi charge was done after the orders of Devendra Fadnavis? According to the information given by Jalna Superintendent of Police office in response to RTI, Devendra Fadnavis had not ordered lathi charge on the protesters.
Violence broke out in Jalna
The issue regarding this lathi charge incident in Jalna is still heated. Jarange Patil was earlier on a continuous hunger strike regarding Maratha reservation, now he is holding meetings all over Maharashtra. Let us tell you that violence broke out in Jalna when a large contingent of police reached the protest site and said that Patil’s condition was deteriorating and he needed to be admitted to a government hospital.
On this, Patil’s supporters said that they will get him examined by private doctors. Meanwhile, the police tried to forcibly detain Patil and violence broke out. Maratha workers accused the police of beating a large number of protesters.
