However, now politics has started regarding his visit and the opposition has started surrounding him.

Actually, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has taken a dig at PM Modi watching the match. He said that BJP was running a game plan behind the scenes that if the Indian team wins, PM Modi himself should be present in the Narendra Modi Stadium. Raut said that if you do not call Kapil Dev, then how did this happen in cricket, this became politics. Former captain of the Indian team and Kapil Dev, who won India the first World Cup, has said that he was not invited to watch the match.

Sanjay Raut said that actors were called to the ground to watch the match, leaders were called. But Kapil Dev was not invited to watch the final. He also raised questions on the cricket fans of Ahmedabad and said that just as there is Lord’s ground in England, similarly there is Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match was to be held in a stadium like Wankhede, where the team would have got more support. He said that India’s defeat has affected everyone’s heart.

Congress also raised questions about Kapil Dev

Congress is also attacking for not inviting former Indian captain Kapil Dev to the final match. Maharashtra opposition leader and Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar said, ‘In today’s time, politics is happening everywhere. Then how can cricket be left out? Politics is happening here also. This is the reason why Kapil Dev was not invited. Let us tell you that India had to face defeat by six wickets at the hands of Australia in the final match.

Kapil Dev said about not receiving the invitation

In fact, Kapil, who won India’s first ODI World Cup in 1983, said that he wanted to go to the final with his fellow players. Kapil told ABP News, ‘I was not invited there. They didn’t call me so I didn’t go. It is just that simple. I would have liked the entire 1983 team to be there with me but I think it is such a big tournament and people are so busy with responsibilities that sometimes they forget.
