Chhath Puja in New Jersey, America, thousands of Indians offer prayers to the Sun

Chhath Puja Celebration: Indians celebrated Chhath Puja with great pomp in New Jersey, United States of America. It is noteworthy that a large number of Indian people had gathered on the banks of the river in Edison, New Jersey to offer prayers to the rising sun.

The American team of Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA) and Bihar Foundation have played an important role in organizing these celebrations. The festival of Chhath Puja was celebrated in America so that its tradition could remain alive in the hearts of the people living away from their motherland.

According to sources, the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), an organization representing the Indian community in America, has also played an important role in the conduct of the festival.

On the morning of Sunday (19 November), about 2000 Indian devotees offered Arghya to the rising sun at a ghat. The local administration of New Jersey has also given a lot of help regarding the puja.

Chhath fast was also celebrated in Britain

Chhath Puja was celebrated in many cities of Britain including North Hamptonshire. The devotees performed the puja as per complete rituals. Around 1200 people celebrated the festival of Chhath Puja at York Cottage Spa and Resort in North Hamptonshire. The collective puja was planned by Bihari Connect UK organisation. 18,000 euros were spent on the preparations for the pier.

Hundreds of people gathered in Melbourne

According to Bihari Foundation, with the efforts of Bihar Jharkhand Sabha of Australia and New Zealand, a ghat was prepared for Chhath Puja in Melbourne, Australia and a large number of people worshiped the Sun here.
