Sarhasa: A youth died due to drowning in water at Chhath Ghat in Dorma Sahu Tola ward number 15 of Aukahi Panchayat of Sattar Kataiya block. This incident happened on Monday (November 20) morning. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Manish Kumar. There was chaos in the family as soon as the news of death was heard. As soon as information about the incident was received, the revenue officer reached the spot.
Five youths together searched Manish’s body from the pond.
The deceased Manish Kumar was a resident of Dorma Sahu Tola Ward No. 5 of Aukahi Panchayat. He had come to Chhath Ghat with his family at the pond near the house. After offering Arghya, he went to the pond to take bath. When he did not come out of the water after a long time, people became suspicious. After this, five youths entered the pond and started searching, after which Manish’s body was found.
District administration accused of negligence
Local public representative Arun Yadav told that the youth had gone to take bath in the pond to celebrate Chhath festival. In the same sequence, he died due to drowning in water. He lashed out heavily at the district administration regarding the incident. Alleging negligence, he said that there was no law and order at any Chhath Ghat on the part of the district administration.
Compensation will be given to the family members as per the provision
At the same time, Revenue Officer Naveen Kumar said regarding this incident that investigation is being done. This unpleasant incident happened in the morning. Whatever happens in this regard, further action will be taken. Post-mortem of the youth’s body will be conducted. After this, compensation will be given as per the provision.
