Ayodhya News: Three thousand candidates have applied for the post of priest in the Ram temple under construction by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. Of them, 200 have been called for interview. Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said on Monday that out of 3000 applications received by the Trust, 200 candidates have been selected for interview on the basis of their merit and they have been called for interview by the Trust.
He told that a three-member panel of interviewers is interviewing these selected candidates at Karsevak Puram, the headquarters of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Ayodhya. According to him, the panel includes famous Hindu preacher Jaikant Mishra of Vrindavan and two Mahants of Ayodhya, Mithilesh Nandini Sharan and Satyanarayan Das.
Giri told that 20 candidates will be selected for the job of priest through interview. According to him, the selected candidates will be appointed as priests after six months of residential training and will be posted at various posts in Ram Janmabhoomi. He said that however, non-selected candidates who participated in the training would be given certificates.
The Treasurer told, “What is Sandhya Vandan, what is its method and what are the mantras of this puja?” Questions are being asked like what are the ‘mantras’ for worshiping Lord Ram and what are the ‘karma kands’ for it, etc. Giri said that the selected 20 candidates were given training for six months at Karsevak Puram in Ayodhya. Will be given which will be based on the religious curriculum prepared by top saints. According to him, during the training, the candidates will get free accommodation and food and two thousand rupees will also be given as honorarium.
