‘A tough pill to swallow but we hold our heads high’

India finished runners-up in the ODI World Cup 2023 after facing a six-wicket defeat against Australia in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

Mohammed Shami, who finished as the highest wicket-taker in the marquee event with 24 wickets in seven matches, reacted after India’s heartbreaking defeat.

“It’s a tough pill to swallow for us but we’re holding our heads high,” the 33-year-old said after the World Cup final defeat.
